Curating the 27th Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture 2020 "Tuloy Po Kayo" Filipino Martial Arts discipline is Alvin Catacutan, owner and Chief Instructor of Pamana Kali: Philippine Martial Arts and Culture.
This year, Pamana Kali presents three Female FMA practitioners who all have professional careers and children. These interviews are meant to inspire our community to train in FMA as an entry point to Philippine Heritage and Culture. Our FMA featured artists this year are all "Kababaihan", or women. Agalon Jade Gaje “The Jade Chef” is the daughter of GT Leo Gaje Jr. founder of Pekiti Tirsia Kali. She truly embodies family legacy in FMA. Celina Taganas-Duffy is a mother, artist, and founder of Tagline Communications. She studied Kali Ilustrisimo as a private student under Master Christopher “Topher” Ricketts and trains the very rare style of Jack Santos Method under her uncle, Faustino Caigoy. Her martial arts lineage also includes Lameco, San Miguel Eskrima, Bagua, and Wing Chun. Guro Graciela Casillas is a world champion boxer, Kickboxer, and Escrima World Champion. She was introduced to the world of FMA by the legendary Guro Dan Inosanto. A college professor, mother, and Martial Art School owner Guro Graciela is embraced by the FilAm Community for her long time commitment to the Filipino Martial Arts. |
