ABOUT ESKWUWELA KULTURA
Eskuwela Kultura is the cultural arts education program of FilAm ARTS that engages community to share their stories, encourage them to find their voice, and empowers them to develop artistic expression rooted in cultural sensibilities. By providing opportunities to share and hear stories that have shaped the Filipino community in America, we give others a way to foster cultural understanding and self identification.
Eskwela Cultura's programming functions by using artistic expressions such as theater, dance, music and storytelling to share historical significance of the Filipino American experience. In partnership with Pilipino Workers Center and Bridge Delta, we staged "Journey For Justice: The Larry Itliong Story on Larry Itliong Day last October 2019 to community members.
